Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

1.0 About our Organisation.

Grange Fencing is a distributor and supplier of fencing and garden structures, trading nationally in the UK. Operating as a part of the Stelmet Group, the highest volume producer of wooden garden architecture in Europe, we take our obligations to ensure that there is no slavery or human trafficking in our supply chain seriously.

2.0 Our Policies on Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking.

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking, either in our extended supply chain or internally within our business. In addition to this anti-slavery statement, we have a number of other policies and procedures to support our commitments including the:

  • Purchasing and Sourcing Policy.
  • Whistle-blowing Policy.
  • Equal Opportunities Policy.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility Policy.

Our policies are periodically reviewed to ensure that they adhere to the latest legislation, but are also updated as we strive to go beyond minimum requirements and set standards for best practice in our industry.

All Grange Fencing Employees are issued the relevant policy documents and are inducted and trained on how to operate under them.

3.0 Responsible and Ethical Trading.

Grange Fencing will only engage with suppliers that support our pledge to ensure there is no slavery or human trafficking activities within our supply chain. This includes the exploitation of workers, forced labour, or labour which involves physical, verbal or psychological harassment, or intimidation of any kind. We will not accept human trafficking or the exploitation of children and under-age people in our business and we expect our suppliers to undertake all reasonable and practical steps to ensure that these standards are maintained.  Our company is dedicated to protecting human rights. We are a committed equal opportunity employer and will abide by all fair labour practices.

4.0 Due Diligence.

Grange Fencing operate an international supply chain, with key suppliers in both Poland and China. Although we expect our suppliers to share our commitment to anti-slavery, we have a due diligence to check their compliance and to offer our support where possible.

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we have in place systems to:

  • Identify potential risk areas in our supply chain.
  • Regularly monitor the risk areas in our supply chain and put in place mitigating actions.
  • Protect whistle blowers via our Whistleblowing Policy.
  • Develop and train suppliers to ensure they understand their obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
  • Where possible, undertake physical and/or desktop audits to confirm vendor compliance.
  • Work with external auditing and compliance bodies, to help corroborate our risk assessments.
